Visited Saturday 4th March 2023 mid afternoon. Large Castle Rock pub right next to the canal, only a short walk from the train station. Decor is very unique with an industrial feel in keeping with its history, the canal actually enters the building and there's a barge moored in it. The place is huge with plenty of seating, there's also a huge outside beer garden that's partly covered next to the canal, obviously this gets incredibly busy during the summer. Drinks wise is an interesting mix with cask beer, an outstanding range of craft beer on keg, a massive selection of craft and continental beers in cans and bottles, ciders, lager, spirits, wine, prosecco and soft drinks. The diversity of drinks leads to a really diverse crowd with people drinking very expensive, hard to find craft beer next to people drinking Carling or bottles of prosecco....but it all works. I'd highly recommend going, especially if you're in a group with different tastes in drinks.

A very beautiful place for the summer days ahead. Apart from the good quality good and th selection of drinks, as well as thw wonderful and tranquil location near the Railway station in Nottingham there are a few things that one has to have love for detail to see. The entrance, despite feeling a bit narrow, it actually provides safety from petty thiebes for the customers. There is plenty of sheltered and shaded seating outside and there is even a small parking at the front yard. There is also enough protection from the waterfront too. A unique feature is that the water of the canal enters the house and one needs to cross an indoors bridge to get to the bar. It is a breathtaking feature. The whole atmosphere is wonderful and I enjoyed every minute I spent there, the location, the food, the architecture to the features and the creativity of the designers.

Where do we begin? Amy is amazing. From our initial enquires about hosting our wedding reception at the Canal House, to collecting the final bits and bobs after the wedding, Amy was attentive, helpful and generous with her time. It certainly wasn't easy organising our wedding from Australia but Amy was quick on the emails, made suggestions and helped to make our wedding reception romantic and memorable. Amy was also very accomodating of our particular requests, especially in relation to beer selection and access to the venue. The venue itself was exactly what we needed. Plenty of space for our family and friends, with an excellent dance floor to dance our wedding night away. The food was sensational! Our guests complimented the generous servings and the excellent taste. Thank you so much for having us!

Last pub we popped into before our train home. Inside the pub which is an old warehouse are two canal boats. You walk over the bridge to the bar. Huge outdoor seating area near the canal which is lovely sit out there when the sun is shining as it was for us. Good size portion is food and good amount of choices. You order at the bar and they give you an alarm. Once your food is cooked it buzzes and you go and collect your food. Pigeons were a pain flying around and eating from leftover food. I feel staff should pop out regularly and clear the plates away. We had to constantly duck as the birds flew passed us. There are four other bars literally next door to this one so you can wander around. There were hundreds of beers to choose from and they sold some good tasty beers. A must visit :)

Canalhouse has a nice atmosphere for evening drinks or during the day. Outside they have lot of tables if you want to relax in the sun and watch the canal go by. The inside is interesting and cool as you go over a little bridge or walk round the water (50 steps extra maybe???). The beer selection is wide, lots on the tap and fair amount of unusual drinks if you feeling adventurous. When it hits 9pm the audience does disappear so if you want a quiet and fancy area to drink, this be your cup of tea. That was Saturday so cant speak for other days. Only reason why it a 4 star, the kitchen wasn't available for the public on the day and i was hoping to have food at the place...

Whilst visiting Nottingham for work, I spent a few hours in their very busy and buzzing beer garden sinking a few pints with my colleagues. Loved how this former canal bonding warehouse (I presume that's what it used to be) has been converted into a pub, complete with narrowboats and a footbridge over the water inside the building. Plenty of staff behind the bar as well. I've knocked a star off for the gents being on the 3rd floor (quite a climb with a belly full of beer) and the burger I ordered off their 'specials' menu wasn't anything special and could have benefited from some garnish and sauce between its bun halves. Overall a good experience though.
