Dreaming of Kaya Toast in Berlin 🧈

Finding a good restaurant in Berlin isn't always easy. As a Barcelona native, you can imagine how overwhelming it can be to eat German food every day. Over the past 7 years living in Berlin, these have become my ✨ultimate Berlin food guide✨. Last year, I visited Singapore for a film shoot. It was my first time trying kaya toast. I’m a big fan of dishes that combine different flavors, and kaya toast is the perfect blend of sweet and savory. I fell in love with it and ordered it every day for a week, along with a strong iced coffee. When I left Singapore, I even bought a jar of kaya to take home, but I finished it quickly and gradually forgot about it. Until suddenly, I was reminded of that crispy, toasted bread again. 🥪 Maybe it was the sudden heat of early summer in Berlin that brought it back to my mind. I started thinking... There’s a Malaysian and Singaporean restaurant in Berlin: Ma-Makan! On a sunny day, we went there for a very late breakfast. We sipped a sweet iced coffee, feeling the caffeine kick in. We ordered their delicious homemade kaya toast with eggs. The sauce for their Hainanese chicken rice and the fried chicken were also amazing! It’s not the cheapest place in Berlin, but finding kaya toast in Europe is truly rare. 🌟 🐓 Ma-Makan Address: Lausitzer Pl. 12, 10997 Berlin #food #DeliciousMeal #Berlin #BerlinRestaurant #MalaysianRestaurant #SingaporeanRestaurant #BerlinMalaysian #BerlinSingaporean #MalaysianCuisine #BerlinTravel #Germany #KayaToast #BerlinCafe
