🍝 Dreyfus Team’s Stunning New Italian Restaurant in Toronto!
It’s been a while since I shared a truly gorgeous meal from a top-tier team. Finally! The Italian restaurant I’ve been eagerly waiting for is here 🎉 Opened just a week ago — I booked three weeks in advance. Tucked quietly into Little Italy with little hype, yet already fully packed on weekends! What’s the background? 📍 Dreyfus & 📍 Tavern Bernhardt’s & 📍 Vilda’s — same brilliant team behind this new gem. After mastering French cuisine, roast chicken, and sandwiches… they’ve now set their sights on Italian food. “The older siblings are already so impressive — how could we not have high expectations for the youngest?” 👶✨ 📍 NL.Ginzburg 548 College St, Toronto Enter through an unmarked red door — and wow, the interior is breathtaking! True to Dreyfus’ signature elegance. The menu is entirely in Italian, but the lovely servers enthusiastically explain each dish. We ordered: 🫑 Sweet peppers & Tuna Involtini as an appetizer Sweet peeled peppers stuffed with canned tuna and anchovies — so tender and delicate. The sauce tasted oddly… Chinese? Familiar and homely to me, but probably exotic to locals! 🧀 Ravioli di ricotta al burro e spugnoli as our first main Homemade ricotta ravioli with brown butter and morel mushrooms — a classic, elevated pasta and one of their signatures. 🐇 Braised rabbit as our second main My first time trying whole rabbit braised in red wine — so unique! Served in large pieces (leg, breast…) — tender, though the sauce was mild. Still, nothing beats Sichuan spicy rabbit in my heart 😂 🥔 Roasted potatoes were incredible — smoky, crispy, perfect with wine! They have an extensive wine list and open new bottles daily — come thirsty! The vibe gets livelier as the night goes on… but fair warning: it gets LOUD! People eating, drinking, having a great time — so be prepared for a buzzing atmosphere! #TorontoFood #ItalianCuisine #FineDining #LittleItaly #NLGinzburg
