Dublin Store Exploration | A French Bistro Hidden Next to a Castle
【Chez Max】 Every time I visit the castle, I see this place bustling with customers. I always thought it was just because it's near a tourist spot, but it turns out it's genuinely popular! The overall style and service are very French. The staff are super friendly, and the dishes are all very authentic—no misses here! 👉🏻Escargots de Bourgogne 💰: 12.9€ Snails with garlic, parsley butter—a classic and foolproof combination. The snails are fresh and have a nice, chewy texture. They’re easy to eat even without special tools. 🐌 👉🏻Ballotine de Foie gras de Canard 💰: 18.9€ Two small slices of crispy, not-sour brioche bread, paired with duck liver pâté, poached pears, and prune Armagnac sauce. The foie gras on its own might taste a bit salty, but luckily there’s a basket of bread to enjoy with it. 🍖 👉🏻Entrecôte & Fries “maison” 💰: 40€ Ribeye steak, French fries, with watercress rémoulade and pepper sauce. The steak was cooked to medium-rare, which is decent for the price, but I still prefer the one I had in France last time. 😛 👉🏻Poire pochée au Vin chaud 💰: 8.5€ Poached pear with vanilla-orange cream topped with almond sugar. The cream has a mascarpone-like texture. The pear is perfectly stewed—firm on the outside but easy to cut, with a subtle flavor. The combination of flavors is quite rich. 🍐 👉🏻Café Gourmand 💰: 9.5€ A mini platter of 4 desserts + a cup of coffee/tea. Considering a single coffee is 3.8€, this combo is a great deal! It includes caramel pudding, rum chocolate truffle, lemon meringue tart, and macaron. All four are delicious. The pudding has lots of vanilla seeds, the chocolate is smooth, and the tart and macaron have just the right amount of sweetness. 🍰☕️ #Ireland #DublinStoreExploration #IrishLife #Dublin #DublinLiving #DublinFood #FoodHeals #FrenchCuisine
