Dublin Store Exploration | Global Rank 6️⃣ Steakhouse, Not Impressive
【F.X.Buckley Steakhouse】 A well-known Irish steak chain originating from a butcher shop that started in 1930. Now operating several steakhouse and butcher shop chains, with online ordering available. Ranked sixth among the world's top 101 steak houses and the fastest-rising restaurant in Europe. Specializes in 28-day dry-aged steaks, claiming to cook steaks over charcoal. We visited with friends to celebrate a birthday, but we all agreed it didn't meet our expectations. Maybe we didn't order the dishes that best showcase their skills. 👉🏻 CHICKEN LIVER & FOIE GRAS PARFAIT 💰: 14.5€ The sauce is a mix of chicken liver and foie gras, which can be a bit salty if eaten alone. There's a layer of honey wine jelly on top, adding a subtle sweetness. The brioche bread looks slightly toasted on the outside, but it's still quite good, with a crisp exterior. Overall, the combination is quite nice. 🍽️ 👉🏻 SHORT RIB NUGGET 💰: 12.5€/piece A very crispy, deep-fried nugget made from short rib meat. The meat is abundant and quite flavorful, but the beefy taste is strong. Friends who are sensitive to this might want to avoid it. There's not much truffle garnish, but it adds a slight mushroom flavor. 🍗 👉🏻 RIB EYE ON THE BONE 💰: 72.5€ (includes a 22oz ribeye steak, crispy onions, a choice of sauce, and one side dish) 👉🏻 COTE DE BOEUF [for two] 💰: 110€ (includes a 32oz ribeye steak, beef fat fries, mashed potatoes, creamed vegetables, caramelized onions, chestnut mushrooms, and a choice of black pepper sauce, béarnaise sauce, bone marrow sauce, or garlic butter) The meat quality is indeed excellent, as expected from a butcher shop. Both steaks were ordered medium, but they were slightly overcooked. However, the charcoal flavor was very noticeable, with some parts having a charred texture. There was a small bottle of seasoning on the table that reminded me of Chinese barbecue seasoning. 🍖 👉🏻 TOFFEE APPLE CHEESECAKE 💰: 9.95€ Do not order this! The only good part was the chocolate sauce used for writing. The meringue tasted strange, and there was no noticeable toffee flavor. The apple was placed separately. The cake part did not have the texture of cheesecake at all. It felt more like a combination of mousse and jelly, with a very odd overall flavor. 🍰 #Ireland #DublinStoreExploration #IrishLife #Dublin #DublinLiving #DublinFood #FoodieUniverse #Steak #DryAged
