During my time living in Rocheste

During my time living in Rochester, exploring local boutiques has become a simple pleasure that brings bits of daily happiness. If I had to share my two favorite jewelry and gift shops, they would definitely be Craft Company No.6 and Parkleigh. They each have their own distinct style, yet both beautifully capture the joys of life in unique ways. 1️⃣ Craft Company No.6 🏆 📍 785 University Ave, Rochester, NY 14607 This is hands down the top hidden gem in my book! 💎 From its curated selection and interior design to the friendly staff and overall atmosphere, it's nearly flawless. Stepping inside, you're immediately wrapped in a warm, thoughtful energy—soft lighting, natural wooden displays, and every corner thoughtfully arranged. It feels less like a store and more like a carefully crafted micro art space. ✨ Most items here are works by local artists or independent designers, many of them one-of-a-kind. From elegantly designed earrings and necklaces to clever home decor pieces, everything seems to tell its own story. I especially love the "back room" area—it’s like stepping into a dreamland filled with beautiful tableware, handcrafted ceramics, designer lamps, scented candles, and art prints. It’s hard not to start imagining new additions for your home while browsing! 🕯️🍽️ The prices are also very reasonable, completely justifying the design and quality: Earrings: bought earlier, around $10+ (simple yet distinctive, easy to wear daily). Necklace: $40+ before tax (elegant lines and unique material—a piece you could wear for years). Cat spoon: $50 before tax (made of tin, and the cutest part is that each little cat has a different expression—absolutely heart-melting! 😻). Dolphin lamp: $40+ before tax (they also have lamps made from sliced minerals—when lit, the light effects are stunning, like bringing a piece of the galaxy home). 2️⃣ Parkleigh 🛍️ 📍 215 Park Ave, Rochester, NY 14607 If Craft Company No.6 is about "curated elegance," Parkleigh is about "diverse abundance." This store is quite large, filled with a wide variety of goods—from skincare and bags to designer totes, an extensive collection of Jellycat plush toys 🧸, greeting cards, stationery, home goods, and more. It feels like a giant lifestyle warehouse! While the selection is broad, it's well-organized, making browsing a fun treasure-hunt experience. Their jewelry section is also worth exploring—more modern and varied in style. I found a particularly special necklace here: the chain has a spring-like elasticity, giving it a substantial feel while remaining lightweight to wear. The best part is the large pearl pendant is detachable, so you can style it in different ways depending on your outfit or mood—versatile and chic! 💫 Prices here are a bit higher than the former, but the design and craftsmanship still impress: Pearl spring necklace: around $60 (finely detailed and highly versatile—it's become a recent favorite of mine). These two stores each offer something special: one is perfect for quietly discovering one-of-a-kind treasures, while the other is ideal for leisurely browsing and finding diverse inspiration. If you're ever in Rochester, I recommend checking them out—you might just find your own little dose of happiness. 🌟 #rochester#HiddenGem#HandmadeDesign#GiftIdeas#LifeAesthetics#ShopLocal
