Eating beef in Florence
Today seems to be some kind of holiday, as Florence is packed with people. I hastily booked a recommended restaurant. According to Google, it's known for its pasta and pizza🍕, but since I'm in Florence, of course I had to try the steak. I ordered the dry-aged beef recommended by the owner, the house salad, the recommended red wine, and tiramisu. 🥩:We ordered 1.2kg for two people and ate until we were stuffed. The beef had a delicious caramelized layer, and the medium doneness was just right for me. 🍷:The paired red wine was a dry red from the Banfi winery. I looked it up and 2018 was a good year; the wine had a rich berry flavor that complemented the meat well. I ordered a Margherita pizza 🍔 in Florence, and it was incredibly delicious. It was the best Margherita I've had in Italy so far. The next day, I couldn't decide what to eat, so I went back and ordered a Napoli 🍕. The staff told me that this pizza has fish 🐟 in it and is quite salty, but since I like fish, I said that was fine. However, it turned out to be really salty. I could only eat half of it and then had to wash it down with some wine. The owner noticed that I had left a lot of pizza and asked me how it was. I told him it was a bit too salty. He explained that the pizza isn't actually salty, but that's just how it's made. Then he asked me to wait a moment 🫷. To my great surprise, he brought out a brand new Margherita pizza from the kitchen and gave it to me, saying that this one wasn't salty and I could enjoy it!!!! I was completely shocked 😱. I was eating alone and ended up with two whole pizzas!!! As I was leaving, the owner told me that in Italy 🇮🇹, anything with fillets is usually quite salty. Many people say they like fillets, but in reality, they often find them too salty to eat. 📍:Locanda de‘ Medici, with an average cost of 70 euros per person (if you order steak). The location is great, and the owner is very charming—he even knows about Little Red Book. #FoodDiary #Florence #FlorenceCuisine #FlorenceTravel #ItalyTravel #Italy #ItalianFood #FlorenceSteak #TravelBits
