Eating in Berlin | Fragrant Lamb Pilaf 🍲🐑

Berlin truly opens the door to Middle Eastern cuisine, with Turkish, Lebanese, Persian, and Yemeni dishes that all resonate with my taste for a balanced mix of meat, vegetables, and carbs in a meal. I dined with a friend at an Afghan restaurant in Schöneberg, where the soft decor is approachable, cute, and the tableware is exquisitely beautiful, creating a truly lovely atmosphere with candlelight. 🏠42 Kebab Degi The most common meat used in Afghan cuisine is lamb, and there's no way lamb pilaf can be anything but fragrant. The best among the lamb dishes is the Afghan lamb skewer, but this place has a dish of lamb trotters that are stewed until they literally fall off the bone and melt in your mouth 🍴. Served with Afghan green sauce and yogurt sauce, it's heavenly! 🏠46 Zereshk Polo Makhsus A specialty Afghan flavored rice with a whole chicken leg, served with caramelized papaya, butter-roasted carrot slices, and almond slices, and topped with cranberries. It's addictively good with every bite. 🏠Mantu Known as khameerbob, it's often eaten in dumpling form. I had the beef version, with the dough rolled out beautifully. The steamed mantu is served with meat sauce, yogurt, and a sauce based on qoroot, giving a hearty meat dish feel. 🏠Saffron Ice Cream It's so delicious but a bit too sweet for my taste. The dessert itself is excellent, with a rich, delicate saffron flavor. It can be a bit overwhelming by the end, so I recommend sharing a portion among 2-3 people. #ExploreBerlin #DailyBerlin #BerlinFoodie #EatingInBerlin
