Ecuadorian dishes 🇪🇨 ox tail, ox stomach, fish salad, rice 😋
For New York’s niche cuisine lovers—Ecuadorian food is a must-try! It blends Indigenous, African, and Spanish flavors, with even hints of Chinese cuisine. It’s unique, generous with ingredients, and totally satisfying for Chinese palates too! 😋 Bandera (Three-Course Rice Bowl) A combo of oxtail stew, potato-stewed tripe, and ceviche—all three dishes are delicious and perfect with rice. 🍚 Bolón Mixto (Fried Banana & Pork Rind Balls) Such a cute and novel dish! 🥰 A traditional breakfast snack made of mashed green bananas mixed with fried pork rinds and cheese. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and salty-savory—so moreish. Cazuela de Mariscos (Seafood Stew) Insanely generous with ingredients! One bowl is enough to fill you up all day. 🥣 It’s a rich peanut sauce stew with all kinds of seafood (shrimp, crab, fish, scallops), plus green bananas that add a subtle sweetness. The texture is thick and comforting—highly recommend! 👍 Chaulafan (Ecuadorian Fried Rice) You can tell it’s influenced by Chinese cuisine, but personally, it feels like a simpler version of soy sauce fried rice. The side of plantains and avocado is a nice touch, though—optional, but not a bad pick. 😐 🥤 Fun drinks! We tried Lulo, Guanábana (soursop), and mango milkshakes—all were delicious. 🍹 Portions are huge—$30 per person had us stuffed. 🤰 If you’re into South American food, go check it out! 📍 Rincón Melania #NewYorkFood #NewYorkEats #NewYorkStudyAbroad #NewYorkRestaurants #NewYorkNicheRestaurants #StreetFoodExplorers #AmericasFoodFiesta
