Today was totally stress-free—no "pressure like Alexandria" here! 😂 Below is our tried-and-tested itinerary—feel free to copy! ❤️ ✏️ Itinerary 08:00: Depart from Cairo hotel (3-hour drive to Alexandria). 11:00: Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa (45 mins). 11:55: Pompey’s Pillar at Serapeum ruins (40 mins). 12:35: 30-min drive to seaside lunch. 14:20: Citadel of Qaitbay (1 hour). Evening: Return to Cairo for dinner & overnight at Hilton Pyramids Golf Hotel. 🌟 Highlights ✅ Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa Ticket: 150 EGP. Hours: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM. Why visit? A Roman-era burial site with 3 levels, originally for a wealthy family but later holding 300+ mummies. The carvings and frescoes blend Roman, Greek, and Egyptian styles. ✅ Pompey’s Pillar Ticket: 150 EGP. Hours: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM. Fun fact: This 30m pink Aswan granite pillar (1st century AD) is all that remains of a Roman temple—plus two sphinxes! ✅ Citadel of Qaitbay Ticket: 150 EGP. History: Built in the 15th century on the ruins of the Lighthouse of Alexandria (an Ancient Wonder). The fortress now houses a museum.
