El Paso | That Day I Saw Mexico Beyond the Mountains 🇲🇽
El Paso is such a warm and enchanting city—full of passion and charm. That evening, I was sipping a drink on the rooftop, watching the golden sunset wash over the city. I knew that beyond those mountains in the distance lay another country 🇲🇽, home to another group of lovely people 💕. Day 1 of my Memorial Day trip started by landing in the largest city in West Texas—El Paso. With its captivating natural scenery, rich history, and diverse culture, it served as the perfect starting point for my New Mexico adventure. 🏨 This time, I chose The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park mainly because I heard their rooftop offers breathtaking sunset views 🌄—and it absolutely delivered! (All the photos in this post were taken at this hotel, except ). Plus, all their amenities are from Le Labo—as a fragrance lover, I was thrilled! 👍 Howeverrrrr ❗️❗️❗️—my room was on the 15th floor, and the open-air bar on the 17th was so loud at night that I couldn’t sleep. Having just come back from EDC, I really couldn’t handle more EDM 🥹 (Light sleepers, take note!). ⛰️ Nestled at the foot of the magnificent Franklin Mountains, El Paso is a key city on the U.S.-Mexico border, blessed with stunning natural landscapes. Its unique culture beautifully blends American and Mexican influences 🇲🇽. You can visit the El Paso Museum of History to learn about the region’s rich past and border culture. There are also many Mexican-style artworks and architectures, like St. Patrick Cathedral and Chamizal National Memorial. 😋 Food: El Paso is famous for its diverse culinary scene. Here, you can try authentic Mexican dishes. This time, I went to a pretty local spot—Julio's Mexican Food 🍴 (📍8050 Gateway Blvd E, El Paso, TX 79907). The food was pretty good (though I’ve never fully connected with Mexican cuisine 🙃). 🍴 The hotel’s restaurant and rooftop bar are also great (reservation recommended). I suggest going around sunset for a few drinks. They don’t have a fixed menu—the bartender will craft a cocktail based on your preferences. Super fun 😉! Hope you enjoyed today’s share! Take someone you love to watch the rooftop sunset in El Paso 🌄. #RomanticLife #ElPaso #ResortHotel #NewMexico #TravelGuide #ElPasoFood #Sunset #NewMexicoTravel #USMexicoBorder #TravelDiaries
