El Paso | What Else Is There Besides White Sands?
Short answer: not much 😅 There’s a cave park nearby, but we were tight on time and didn’t make it—so we just explored around the city. 🏠 Magoffin Home State Historic Site This used to be a local tycoon’s mansion 🏛️, now open to the public. The front garden is lovely 🌸, and the interior, though a bit dated, is full of character and vintage details. It’s fairly small—you can tour the whole place in under an hour. Other than that, there weren’t many must-see spots. Some graffiti walls 🎨 are cool but not worth a special trip. But the FOOD—oh, the food! 🍖 A true paradise for meat lovers! 🍽️ Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-B-Q You can’t visit Texas without trying BBQ! This place is a legend. Their slow-smoked brisket is a must-order—incredibly tender and juicy 😋🔥. The ribs are also amazing. Honestly, it’s hard to go wrong with anything here. 🍽️ West Texas Chophouse Another solid BBQ spot, but after Rudy’s, it didn’t wow us as much. Still good though! 🍽️ Los Cabos Seafood A Mexican seafood restaurant with decent dishes. Their tacos aren’t as good as Taconeta’s, and the grilled octopus falls short compared to Café Central’s. 🍽️ Taconeta A fusion taco spot with a cute, modern vibe 🌮❤️. The shrimp and mushroom tacos are lightly fried and felt very Asian-friendly. Their drinks are delicious too! 🍽️ Cafe Central A fine dining gem 🍴✨. We came here after White Sands—casual but classy. I loved their grilled octopus! Note: dress code is enforced 👔. Our group wore t-shirts and shorts, so we were seated in the patio (which was still lovely!). #FoodReview #NewMexico #TexasEats #BBQLover #TravelUSA #FoodDiary #HiddenGems #ElPasoEats
