🌿🦌 Elk Island Park: Test Your Luck! 🍀🚗
What’ll you spot at Edmonton’s closest national park? 🤔 Answer: Elk? Shrugs 🤷♀️ “Your guess is as good as mine!” Our trip was spontaneous—gorgeous Saturday = park day! Only 35 mins from Edmonton, adult tickets 9,familypass17.50 (up to 7 people per vehicle! 💸👌). Drive to the South Gate, pay, and you’re in! Astotin Lake 🌊✨: HUGE, perfect for picnics, with a pretty boardwalk, tiny beach, showers, and amazing wheelchair-friendly bathrooms! 🚿👏 There’s camping too (we didn’t stay, so no review 😅). Some blogs rave about a white thatched cottage, but ours looked… abandoned. Locked doors, sad vibes. 😢 Stroll past dandelion fields to a teeny indoor theater—no shows when we visited. 🎭👀 North of the lake? Beaver Pond 🦫💦. We hiked the trail praying to spot beavers… and failed. Some folks saw them instantly; others (us) walked miles… nada. 😩 Now I get why everyone jokes: “Elk Island? More like No Elk Island!” 🦌➡️🦬 (Even bison are elusive here!) Moral? Embrace the luck lottery! 🎫😜 #YEGWildlife #ElkIslandNP #BisonCountry 🌿🦌
