Encountering the Museum of Life in Spain
The only difference between me and madness is that I am not mad. The only difference between me and mankind is that I am mad. —— Salvador Dalí Traveling is all about visiting museums for me, and among all the museums I've seen, the Dalí Theatre-Museum is definitely my museum of life. After all, it was designed by the artist himself, and he's buried there after his death—who wouldn't be tempted! Dalí's surrealism is not only reflected in the exterior design of the museum but also in every floor and door inside, which are bizarre yet romantic. The entire town is full of surprises: hotels with rotating carousels on their balconies, sculptures of human heads by the roadside... 🚄 Take the high-speed train (AVE) from Barcelona to Girona 💰 €17.8 / 🕒 40 minutes The Girona Cathedral is the filming location for the King's Landing Cathedral in Game of Thrones and has the widest nave of any church in the world. The red iron bridge is designed by Gustave Eiffel, the same designer of the Eiffel Tower 🗼, and it really looks like a horizontal Eiffel Tower. 🚌 Take a bus from Girona to Figueres 💰 €6.5 (cash only) / 🕒 60 minutes The Dalí Theatre-Museum is located in Figueres, which is also Dalí's hometown. The town is really small, with the core area around the museum, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll. The museum is quite large; I entered at 14:00 and came out at 17:00. The large self-portrait in the courtyard is perfect for photos. #EuropeanTravel #SpainTravel
