Esztergom is a small city in Hungary. It is one of the three towns of the Danube Bend, located right next to the Danube River, with Slovakia just across the river.😀😀😀 The history of Esztergom dates back to 971. In 1001, King Stephen I was born here. From the 10th to the 13th century, Esztergom served as the capital of Hungary and the royal residence. The Esztergom Basilica, also known as the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Cathedral, is the largest and most prestigious church in Hungary. It is the second-largest church in Europe and the fourth-largest in the world. The basilica features a grand exterior and exquisite interior decorations. Inside, the painting of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the largest single oil painting in the world. Visitors can also climb to the top of the basilica to enjoy panoramic views of Esztergom.❤️❤️❤️ Across the river lies the Slovak town of Sturovo. The famous Maria Valeria Bridge spans the Danube, connecting the two towns. The bridge, which is about 500 meters long, was completed in 1895. From the bridge, visitors can admire the scenic views along both banks of the Danube.😍😍😍 Cuisine - At the base of the basilica, there is a restaurant called Primate Cellar, where visitors can enjoy delicious meals, taste fine wines, and learn about traditional winemaking methods. - Next to the Maria Valeria Bridge is the renowned restaurant Maditerraneo, which is often frequented by celebrities and socialites from around the world.
