Find Things to DoFind The Best Restaurants

European Life | Bastible, Dublin's One-Michelin-Star Restaurant

Dublin only has a handful of Michelin-starred restaurants. I booked this one for a birthday celebration. I looked around a month in advance but couldn't find any availability. Two weeks later, I tried again and got lucky! I made the reservation through OpenTable, and no deposit was required. On this app, you can also send messages to the restaurant. For example, I sent a message five days in advance saying it was my boyfriend's birthday and asking if they could prepare a surprise candle🕯️ (I saw on Instagram that they offer candles for celebrations, so I asked). The restaurant usually replies the next day. As a result, we got little chocolate balls and a candle, and the staff even said "Happy Birthday" to him. Neither of us drinks alcohol, so we had extra non-alcoholic pink lemonade and grapefruit soda. This was not included in the set menu💰. The average cost per person was €110, and I think it's definitely worth a try. The meal lasted two hours. Each dish was very delicate and had a small portion size, which was perfect for girls with small appetites but left my boyfriend feeling a bit unsatisfied😕. There were nine courses in total, and this was fixed. The restaurant decides what you eat. The actual menu was presented before dessert, and I noticed it was slightly different from the monthly menu published online. The food was excellent. Every dish was delicious. It turns out that Western cuisine can be made very tasty. Each dish had layers of texture and flavor—rich, smooth, refreshing, and even a bit spicy—all in one bite. For example, the appetizer with turbot started with a rich and thick sauce, followed by the chewy and smooth texture of the fish, with bursts of fruity fragrance and a final surprise of wasabi spiciness. 🕯️ I thought the restaurant's ambiance was quite ordinary, but the lighting was bright, the heating was warm, and the spacing between tables was comfortable. However, it got really noisy when full, and my boyfriend and I had to shout across the table to each other. We were so focused on eating that we lost track of time and hunger. Fortunately, we both enjoy digging into our meals and just focused on eating. #RestaurantRecommendation #HiddenGem #AmbianceRestaurant #GourmetExperience #Cuisine #Ireland #Europe #EuropeanLife #Michelin
