Even More Stunning Than the Royal Palace in Madrid, Great for Photos

🏛 The Museo Cerralbo, located in the heart of Madrid, was once the home of the 17th Marqués de Cerralbo (Enrique de Aguilera Gamboa, 1845-1922, a politician, poet, and archaeologist). The Marqués had a passion for collecting and archaeology, and when constructing his residence, he instructed the architect to design it with both residential and museum functions, to live in and to house the art and antiques he collected throughout his life. Though the museum is not large in scale, it is no less stunning than the Royal Palace in Madrid. It houses over 50,000 private collections and is one of the few buildings in Spain that retains the original appearance of a 19th-century palace. The entire museum is divided into a semi-basement, ground floor, main floor, attic, and garden, displaying valuable sculptures, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, furniture, coins, medals from the 16th to the 19th centuries, and even weapons and armor. Visitors can immerse themselves in the luxurious lifestyle of upper-class Spanish families at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Compared to the crowded Royal Palace of Madrid, where interior photography is not allowed, this lesser-known museum is much more visitor-friendly, not only allowing photography but also offering free admission times! Additionally, the museum provides Chinese-language guides, which can be accessed by scanning a QR code on site. ⏰️ Opening Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 9:30 AM-3:00 PM Thursday 5:00 PM-8:00 PM (except holidays) Sunday and holidays 10:00 AM-3:00 PM Closed: Every Monday, January 1st and 6th, May 1st, December 24th, 25th, and 31st 🎫 Admission: 3 Euros, free on Thursdays and Sundays, free for those under 18 and over 65, free for students under 25 or holders of a youth card 📍 Address: C/ Ventura Rodriguez, 17, 28008, Madrid 🚆 Metro Stations: Plaza de España or Ventura Rodriguez, a 10-minute walk after exiting the station #Spain #SpanishTravel #SpanishLife #Museum #Madrid #MadridTravel #EuropeanTravel #MadridOffTheBeatenPath #WorthVisitingMuseum #HiddenGemMuseum
