Exceptional From Start to Finish – The Goring Dining Room Reimagined!
I’ve visited The Goring Dining Room several times before, but this was my first experience since its stunning interior transformation approximately 18 months ago – and what a breathtaking update it is! Located just steps from the entrance on the ground floor, the refreshed décor is both elegant and striking. Green and white wallpaper, gorgeous chandelier-style lighting, and deep emerald curtains set a rich tone. Mirrors adorned with small silhouette portraits and miniature paintings add character, while a red-and-white floral carpet grounds the space. The seating is particularly eye-catching – semicircular banquettes in vibrant red fabric anchor the center, surrounded by beautifully set tables. 🎨💚❤️ The food was equally impressive. Bread served with butter was exquisite (though the Marmite butter wasn’t quite to my taste). An amuse-bouche delighted the palate to start things off. For starters, the Cucumber and Salmon Tartare was refreshing and light, perfectly balanced 🥒🐟. The Watercress Velouté with a generous cheese-filled ravioli was also beautifully executed. When it came to mains, the Partridge Leg was plated with precision – tender, rich, and accompanied by a deeply flavorful gravy, smooth purée, and roasted onions. The Partridge Breast was elegantly presented with the bone running through the center. Its delicate, refined taste was enhanced by a delicious sauce and sweet potato mash. Dessert was a true highlight 🍰💫. The Calvados Baba was vibrant in color and equally joyful to eat. The "Cloud" dessert, featuring lemon sponge and hazelnuts, was pleasant though not quite as memorable as the baba. Service throughout was impeccable – professional yet warm, attentive yet never intrusive. The refreshed space feels more upscale than ever, and the set lunch menu (two or three courses) offers excellent value for an unforgettable dining experience. #TheGoring #FineDiningLondon #LuxuryExperience #ElegantDecor #AfternoonTea
