Take Off Your Shoes and Sit on Tatami for Omakase Japanese Cuisine I had some time on the weekend to visit Santa Monica with friends and decided to check out this 🍣 Japanese restaurant, Irori Sushi, which has been in my bookmarks for a while. I heard you have to take off your shoes to enter, and the seating is all Japanese-style tatami. The atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve been transported from Los Angeles to Kyoto in a second. 👇 Order Time 👇 🌟 Omakase Course: Includes appetizer, soup, five pieces of sashimi, 9 pieces of sushi 🍣 (including hand roll), and dessert for just 90🔪. The sushi is made by a Japanese chef, and the rice uses akazu vinegar for a unique texture. It’s really different from other 🍣 places; the fish is fresh and elastic with rich fats and a sweet aftertaste. The uni is rich in flavor but not too sweet. Each piece of rice has a little wasabi in between with the 🐟, the 🍚 flavor is intense enough to eat as is. We also ordered an additional oyster, which I usually don’t eat 🦪, but theirs was not fishy at all! It was full of freshness and sweetness, definitely worth a try. 🌟 Toro Trio: A platter of three types of bluefin tuna belly. If you love toro, you really should add this to your order. Each piece has a different texture; the otoro is rich and creamy with a milky aftertaste, and the other two have full-bodied meat. The toro bits wrapped in seaweed are to die for. 🌟 Black Cod Set: They offer different sets, and I chose the black cod. The meat is tight and smooth, likely seasoned with miso. It’s not stunning, but the taste is okay. #LosAngelesCuisine #LosAngelesJapaneseFood #LosAngelesLife #LosAngelesFoodExploration #LAFood #SushiLoversFavorite #omakase #LosAngeles #LosAngelesBirthdayDining #LosAngelesFoodie
