Exploring La Mercerie in New York 🏙️
Brunch Series 🥪 There's no need to say more about the French pastries; they're all amazing and a safe bet! The top pick has to be Tourteau Fromager 🌟. It was my first try, and I was totally hooked! The texture is like a rich cake, not overly sweet, and a bit dry, but it goes perfectly with the homemade plum sauce 😍. When you order coffee, they also serve a little cookie on the side 🍪. The Wild Salmon is best enjoyed with soft pancakes, though it might be a bit too rich for one person. Another standout is oeuf cocotte 🥚—the stewed eggs come with mushrooms and crispy mushroom bread, which is a delightful combination. The Complète crepe is filled with eggs, ham, and comté cheese 🧀. Dinner Series 🍽️ For starters, the Veal Tongue soaked in honey is sweet and tender 🍯. The oysters and salmon I saw nearby looked super fresh too. For the main course, I chose curry lamb and roasted duck legs. Each dish comes with different fresh fruits to cut through the richness. The side dish of butter-roasted asparagus was perfectly cooked, locking in the moisture and tenderness 👌🏻. Their desserts were a delightful surprise! The chocolate mousse is balanced with cherries 🍒, and the Peach Melba Verbena comes with ice cream, fresh cream, and peaches 🍑. They also offer take-away cakes, with four or five types of eight-inch French cakes available, all around $45. Overall 🌟 I've been there twice but still haven't tried all the dishes. To sum up, there aren't many misses here, and the portions are quite small. Traditional French portions are perfect for those with smaller appetites, especially elegant ladies 🥩. Of course, the ambiance is a big part of the experience. Oh, and the restaurant accepts private event bookings, so it's a great place to host events too! 💡 In Conclusion 🎉 The average cost per person is around $75, but it really depends on your choices. It's definitely worth it! #LoveThisBrunch 😍
