Exploring Philadelphia: Dubu, a Cozy Little Shop Near Old Hamrt

🌟 I found this place while running errands nearby and decided to check it out based on good reviews. It’s not mind-blowing, but it’s definitely a great spot for a satisfying meal with friends or a quick bite after grocery shopping. 🌟 By the way, there’s a very cozy café next door with delicious ice cream! The taiyaki (Japanese fish-shaped cake) is freshly made but not very tasty—it’s more for a photo op! The coffee and ice cream are definitely worth a try, though! 🌟 Dubu has a very Korean vibe—it’s the kind of place where local Korean seniors come for a home-cooked meal. It serves very homestyle Korean dishes. 🌟 The owner is incredibly friendly! Seeing that I was intrigued by the raw marinated crab but hesitant to order a full plate, he didn’t hesitate to give us a small portion to try. I thought he’d just give us a couple of pieces, but he brought out a whole small plate. Major props ❤️. The crab was amazing—spicy but not overpowering, with a sweet and tender texture. The portion was just right. 🌟 The beef short ribs are slightly sweet and a bit pricey at around $30 a plate, but they’re worth it. The worst thing about beef short ribs is when they’re tough and chewy, but these were not! They were tender and flavorful. 🌟 The beef soup is really good—very flavorful with a rich beef taste. A large serving is only around $16! 🌟 The stone pot rice was also a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect such a huge portion for only around $15. It’s not the most amazing dish, but it’s filling and great value for money. 🌟 Overall, this place isn’t worth a special trip, but if you’re in the area and unsure where to eat, I highly recommend stopping by for a quick meal. You won’t be disappointed. 🌟 The average cost per person is $20-30. The name of the place is dubu. 🏠 Address: 1333 W Cheltenham Ave #102, Elkins Park, PA 19027 🌟 For my friends’ reference. #PhiladelphiaRental #UniversityOfPennsylvania #UPenn #Philadelphia #PhiladelphiaLife #TempleUniversity #DrexelUniversity
