Exploring the Southern Oak Plantation in the USA 🇺🇸
Third Visit to a French-style Plantation in New Orleans – Houmas House A friend recommended it last minute, so I made a spontaneous trip to the banks of the Mississippi River to visit the relatively lesser-known Houmas House plantation. The museum allows interior photography, and there’s also an on-site bed and breakfast, a plantation restaurant, and a wine cellar—definitely a trip worth taking! 🏛️✨ Although the weather wasn’t ideal—a light rain kept us from strolling around the grounds for too long—the scenery was still absolutely charming. Picture small bridges, flowing water, quaint houses, fountains, pavilions, and chickens, ducks, and geese roaming carefreely… It felt just like a peaceful vacation retreat. 🦆🌧️💚 Even with the drizzle, the atmosphere was so serene and picturesque. I wish I could have stayed longer! Have any of you visited a place that made you feel like you were in another era?
