Finally Made It to Jena! 🚂😵💫
Well, I’ve officially experienced the legendary German train delays firsthand! My journey involved two transfers, and of course, the first train was late—making me miss the second one. After scrambling around, I finally boarded the next one, only for it to be so shaky that I got motion sickness (thanks, Deutsche Bahn 🥴). Miraculously, that train arrived early, which saved me from missing the third connection. When I finally stumbled out of the station, no taxis in sight—so I hopped on a €2.70 bus instead. On the way, I spotted five buff policemen lecturing two teens about their stand-up e-scooters. The bikes here are all chunky, off-road-style wheels, and some even tow modified baby trailers behind them—looked kinda cool, not gonna lie. 🚴♂️💨 Dinner at Hofbräuhaus (HB) 🍖🍺 My evening ended at the HB chain restaurant, where the boss treated us to: A massive pork knuckle (crispy skin, but so salty I needed three liters of water) "Free-alcohol" beer (trying to adult responsibly… sort of) Rum-raisin ice cream (weirdly delicious? 🍨) The real MVPs? The flies and wasps that wouldn’t leave us alone. 🐝😅 Post-Dinner Grocery Run 🛒 Hit the supermarket for: ✔ Yogurt (essential) ✔ Milk (cheaper than water—only in Germany) ✔ Baby carrots (trying to balance out the pork knuckle damage) Now I’m parched, but too wired to sleep. Guess I’ll just… stare at the ceiling and hydrate. 🌙💧 #GermanyProblems #JenaDiaries #TrainChaos #GermanFood #StudentLife #WhyIsThePorkSoSalty 🇩🇪🤷♂️
