Finding Life Through Travel 📷
Day 2️⃣ The second day wasn’t overly packed, with much of the time spent on the road. Besides must-see spots in Nashville, I also want to introduce Gatlinburg—a famous tourist town near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 🎸 Vanderbilt University 📍 2201 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37235 Of course, the first stop of the day had to be the so-called "Harvard of the South" – Vanderbilt University! Since it was summer when I visited, the campus wasn’t too crowded. The environment was lovely, perfect for an academic underachiever like me to soak up some intellectual vibes 😉. 🎸 The Parthenon 📍 2500 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203 A replica of the Parthenon, just a 5-minute walk from Vanderbilt. Surrounded by a pleasant little garden, the temple houses several art exhibits, with the golden statue of Athena being the most famous treasure 🏛️✨. Not far from the university and the Parthenon, there’s a great barbecue spot called Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint – perfect for a meal after exploring. After barbecue, it was almost 4 hours on the road 🚗💨. Gatlinburg is a lively tourist town with plenty of visitors, hotels, and restaurants to choose from. The town isn’t very big, so I’d recommend parking at your hotel and exploring the town center on foot – parking fees around here can be pretty high! Besides eating and drinking 🍻, here are some spots worth checking out: 🚡 Skylift Park 📍 765 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 37738 A must-visit attraction in town! Take the cable car up to the mountain top – the view is absolutely worth it 🏞️❤️. There’s plenty of seating at the summit, and you can also challenge yourself on the sky bridge. Watching the sunset with a soda in hand? Pure bliss! 🚡 Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook 📍 Gatlinburg, TN 37738 If cable cars aren’t your thing or you’re afraid of heights, you can drive to this overlook for stunning views of the town and the Great Smoky Mountains 🚙💨. Best of all – it’s free! #Gatlinburg #GatlinburgTravel #Nashville #Vanderbilt #Tennessee #GreatSmokyMountain #TravelDiary
