Fireflies in the Smokies | 4-Day & 3-Night Travel Guide πβ¨
Super-organized J-type traveler back with a brand new itinerary! This time, six of us rented a car from Atlanta and stayed in a cozy cabin in Gatlinburg for four fun-filled days and three relaxing nights. π‘ Accommodation: We booked a charming wooden cabin on Airbnb β perfect for six! It came with entertainment options and full kitchen supplies, but remember to bring your own toiletries. Day 1: We visited Gatlinburg SkyPark. Though the βlongest glass bridge in the U.S.β only has a small glass section in the middle and the mountain views partly block the sunset π, it was still a cool experience. βοΈβοΈβοΈ Three stars for the photo-worthy cable car ride and the black bear we spotted on the way up! Day 2: Morning/Day: Explored Cades Cove for wildlife spotting and hiked Abrams Falls Trail. Evening: Magical experience watching synchronous fireflies at Little River Trail! We secured a parking spot at Elkmont Campground (no camping, just grilling). We bought food and supplies in town the day before, froze everything, and packed them with ice packs in the car. Day 3: Too tired for the famous Alum Cave Trail π , so we took it easy and headed to Clingmans Dome in the evening. The sea of clouds from the observation tower was breathtaking β like standing inside a dreamy mist! βοΈβ¨ Day 4: Checked out in the morning, drove back toward Atlanta, and stopped for some fun target practice on the way. π« #NorthAmericanLife #StudyInTheUS #USNationalParks #GreatSmokyMountains #SmokyMountainsGuide #SmokyMountainsTravel #FoodInTheSmokies #SmokyMountainsCamping #AroundAtlanta #SummerTravel
