Finland · Helsinki · Nolla Restaurant 🍽️

🍴I chose Nolla for dinner, a rising restaurant in Helsinki that has gained quite a bit of attention shortly after its opening. There were few tourists, and the Finnish government requires restaurants to limit the number of customers, but despite this, the restaurant never felt desolate; locals were constantly coming and going. 🍴I ordered a four-course meal with accompanying non-alcoholic beverages. I can't find the photos of the soup and bread appetizers anymore. The first appetizer was a radish dish, which was very refreshing. The second was grilled lettuce, a dish that Norwegians also enjoy making. I think Nolla's version was better than what I've had in Norway, but grilled lettuce is always quite dry, making it feel like chewing on sugarcane. 🍴The main course was Finnish whitefish, which surprisingly didn't cause an allergic reaction for me. It looked ordinary but tasted great. The third non-alcoholic drink that came with it was the restaurant's own kombucha. It was super delicious. For dessert, there was strawberry sorbet and meringue. It was decent, but I've never been a fan of meringue; it always feels too plastic-like to me. 🍴Nolla means "zero" in Finnish, signifying zero waste and environmental sustainability. The owners and head chefs are three young guys: one Portuguese, one Italian, and one local. #Finland #Restaurant
