First Bite at Chez Celine - The French Bistro We've Been Waiting For!
Just tried Fraser Street's hottest new opening - Chez Celine, the sister spot to Michelin-starred St. Lawrence! Even on a Sunday night at 9PM (the only reservation we could snag), this place was buzzing with energy. Here's the delicious breakdown: 📍 Chez Celine (The Montreal-meets-Paris vibe Vancouver didn't know it needed) The Menu Highlights 🍽️✨ 🥩 Beef Tartare Anchovy-kissed and delightfully tangy! Served with flatbread for DIY "French tacos" - genius move! 🌮🇫🇷 🐟 Cob Fish Sous-vide perfection! Firm yet delicate flesh swimming in a bouillabaisse broth that sings with tomato, garlic, and umami depth. The lemon-heavy aioli divided our table - acid lovers rejoice! 🍋 🥔 Gnocchi Pillowy (though slightly overdone) potato dumplings meet vibrant green pea purée. Truffle butter was MIA, but still comforting. 🟢 🐌 Escargot Served on sourdough "pizza"?! Bold presentation, though mostly tasted like high-quality butter. BF approved! 🧈 🍟 Fries Garlicky, crispy, with next-level mayo. Would order again drunk OR sober. 🥔💃 🍷 Namesake Wine More fun to say than drink ("Cheers, Celine!"), but cute nonetheless. Vibe Check 🏙️🐕 Montreal imports nailed the aesthetic: mosaic floors, minimalist tableware, vintage mirrors Dog-themed decor everywhere (think Mon Pitou's chic cousin) Lively bistro energy - great for groups, terrible for first dates (too loud!) That je ne sais quoi missing from most Vancouver spots Will I Return? For that fish dish alone - OUI! Maybe try the duck or steak frites next time. #VancouverEats #FrenchBistro #MontrealImports #NeighborhoodGem #WineAndDine #CasualChic #FoodieFinds #NotYourAverageFries
