First Time in Austin? Here’s How to Have Fun! 🇺🇸🌆

The most iconic university in Austin is UT (University of Texas) 🏛️. The campus is huge—if you have time, explore it thoroughly. If you’re short on time, walk from UT Tower to the Blanton Museum of Art. The UT Tower offers a great view of Austin’s skyline, including the Capitol building. Along the way, you’ll pass a famous fountain ⛲ and see bull statues decorated in fun styles—perfect for photos! 📸 The museum costs $15 to enter, but the exhibits aren’t mind-blowing. However, the exterior is super Instagram-worthy! After UT, head to the Texas State Capitol 🏛️—it’s actually 7 feet taller than the U.S. Capitol in D.C.! Inside, you’ll find interesting historical exhibits if you’re into that. For dinner, we tried El Raval, a Spanish restaurant highly recommended on . 🥘 The paella is delicious, and the tapas are small, so you can order a bunch to share. Their rice pudding dessert is a must-try! On summer evenings, you can watch bats 🦇 fly out from under the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge. I’ve never gone because I heard it smells bad, but if you’re curious, check it out! Instead, I took my parents to The Oasis on Lake Travis for sunset views. 🌅 The food there is meh, and they now charge $10 just to access the viewing deck (which used to be free!). Skip that—head straight to the 3rd floor, where a restaurant often has live music on weekends. Enjoy a drink 🍹, listen to music, and soak in the sunset vibes! (Just expect crowds.) #Weekend #Austin #TravelGuide #Foodie 🍴✈️
