Florence Botanical Garden | A Fourteenth-Century Tree 🌳

"Recommended Weekend Getaway" at the Orto botanico di Firenze 💘 Go absorb the essence of nature. Don't forget to stealthily contact the tree spirits, And arrange a meeting with the plant fairies! 💚 While strolling around Florence, I came across a photo of a tree in this botanical garden, and it instantly refreshed me. The vitality of the tree was so vivid that not even the screen could contain it. I felt compelled to visit, and only upon arrival did I learn that it was a tree from the fourteenth century. 😭 It predates the garden itself (the botanical garden was established in the sixteenth century). I secretly wished to be a tree in my next life. The Florence Botanical Garden is affiliated with the Institute of Botany of the University of Florence's Department of Biology. Perhaps that's why, when my friend and I went for a walk after lunch, we saw many young students with books on the lawn, and young couples taking a stroll with their babies in strollers. (Who wouldn't love greenery!) The botanical garden houses about 9,000 species of plants, ranging from herbs to tropical plants (with a significant number in the greenhouse). Upcoming garden events: September 12th / September 19th: "Travel Stories of Plants and People, A Walk with Botany" ·Combining the botanical culture of the garden with its curation, introducing the biology and ecology of the plants in the garden. 🕰️Time: 16:30 Admission and visit are free. September 10th: "Poetry in the Trees" Concert ·A tribute to plants by Anthony Sidney, former guitarist of the jazz-rock band "Perigeo." During the concert, there will be an opportunity to admire a series of woods used for making musical instruments, sourced from the wood collection stored in the herbarium. 🎻 🕰️Time: 18:00, you need to enter the garden before 17:30. Admission and visit are free. Regular opening hours🕰️: Tuesday to Friday 10AM-7PM 🎫: Full ticket 6€, student discount ticket 3€. (Students from the Tuscany region are free!) ⚠️Remember to bring mosquito repellent! #WhereToGoForTheWeekend #Florence #BotanicalGarden #Green #ItalianPhotographer #Weekend #UniversityOfFlorence #CenturiesOldTree #Nature #FloralPlants
