Florence Cathedral Pitti PalaceAccademia Gallery
Continuing from the previous text, I had originally planned to spend four days and three nights in Florence, taking my time to visit all the attractions thoroughly. However, I ended up covering everything in just three days after accidentally walking 30,000 steps yesterday. Hahaha, I finished my sightseeing ahead of schedule!😁😁😁 So last night, I made a spontaneous trip to Rome to visit a few unexpected sites. But let's get back on track: - Santa Maria del Fiore (Florence Cathedral) : It's hard to describe the awe and emotion I felt... This is an iconic building that has been highlighted in history books. The Giotto Bell Tower built in the 14th century, and the magnificent dome, constructed in the 15th century, are truly remarkable. Michelangelo's use of the first pulley system in human history to build this largest stone dome to date is just one of the many fascinating stories that come to life here. I highly recommend purchasing the 30 Euro all-access ticket (which includes the baptistery, crypt, bell tower, dome, and the museum behind the cathedral). Don't be stingy with such a small amount of money when you're already here‼️ Also, remember to book your dome tickets in advance, as they are likely to sell out at the venue‼️ These paid areas will open sequentially from 8:15 to 10:30. The free public areas of the church are limited and only open at 10:30. I strongly suggest climbing to the top of the dome!! There are no wire meshes or railings obstructing the view from the top (p1), and you can get up close to the frescoes during the ascent😍😍😍 - Central Market : A bustling marketplace where I enjoyed a classic and unique beef tripe sandwich from the old lady's cart at the entrance. The menu is available in Chinese, and the old lady is hospitable.❤️❤️❤️ - Mercato Nuovo (Florence New Market) :There's not much to see here. The wild boar fountain is quite famous, and it's said that touching its nose can bring good luck. - Palazzo Pitti + Boboli Gardens : This place houses the Medici family's treasures and numerous masterpieces from the Renaissance. I recommend buying the combined ticket for 22 Euros, which includes access to the museum and the gardens.😻😻😻 - Galleria dell'Accademia : The most famous piece here is the original David by Michelangelo (p16). Technically, photography is not allowed, but everyone was taking pictures, and the staff didn't stop them... It's definitely worth a visit, although the collection is not extensive and the space is relatively small compared to other museums. #ClassicalArchitecture #WesternArtHistory #StudentTravel #Florence
