Florence Food Diary 60/100
📍Ristorante Borgo San Jacopo The flounder in the appetizer had a jelly-like, chewy texture, paired with dried tangerine peel and a slightly salty vegetable sauce, making it very refreshing. The soft cauliflower and herb bread, served with a rich soup infused with mussels and cucumber chips, offered a very complex and satisfying texture. The beef tartare with black truffle was smooth in the mouth, with a sweet red wine sauce. The slight hint of mustard and pickled radish helped cut through the richness, making it easy even for someone who usually doesn't enjoy raw meat to appreciate this dish. ⚜️This is a two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Florence, located in the Borgo San Jacopo area. I visited here a long time ago, and the service was exceptionally good (they would frequently check if anything was needed, and when I mentioned that the salmon was too raw, they kindly replaced it with another dish). However, overall, it wasn’t as impressive as I had imagined. They offer both tasting menus and à la carte options, and you need to make a reservation in advance through their official website or by phone. If it’s your birthday, you can let them know in advance, and they will prepare a cake as a dessert, as the process of bringing in a cake at a Michelin restaurant is quite complicated. The view is stunning; I highly recommend sitting by the window to enjoy the night view of Ponte Vecchio and the Arno River. Google rating: 4.6/5 📍Borgo S.
