Food|Alaska Fairbanks (Dinner Spots)
Food|Alaska Fairbanks (Dinner Spots) Last time I talked about brunch spots—today, let’s dive into dinner recommendations! 🍽️✨ Chowder House【Personal Rating: 5/5】 Undoubtedly the #1 hidden gem! 🏆 The restaurant may be small, but it’s clean, bright, and cozy. The Crab Roll is absolutely divine—a must-order! 🦀❤️ Also recommend the Seafood Alfredo. Their chowder is New England style 🥣—overall, no disappointments here! Pump House【4/5】 A classic fine-dining spot near Fairbanks, famous for using local ingredients. The ambiance is lovely too. 🍷 We tried Hoodoo Kolsch, a smooth local beer 🍺; Shrimp and Crab Rangoon (wonton wrappers stuffed with shrimp, crab, and cream cheese, then fried)—a bit rich but tasty 🥟; Seafood Chowder, their specialty (a tad salty but good) 🥣; and mains like Grilled Alaskan Salmon and Elk Medallions—both decent. 🥩 Lemongrass Thai Restaurant【3.5/5】 Calling it Thai feels like an Alaskan twist—using local ingredients with Thai spices. 🍛 We ordered Lamb Chops, Seafood Red Curry, and Saffron Lemongrass Halibut—portion was perfect for two. However, halibut is a lean fish, so some might find it a bit dry. 🐟 Kanpai Japanese Sushi & Restaurant【2.5/5】 We thought sushi in Alaska would be amazing, but the sashimi we ordered (salmon, red snapper, yellowtail, white tuna) didn’t taste very fresh 🍣🤔. Maybe we ordered wrong? The Beef Teriyaki Bowl was heavily marinated, almost like Korean BBQ 🥩. Overall, it fills you up, but maybe try other dishes. Seoul Gate Restaurant【3/5】 Ordered Seafood Pancake, Beef Bulgogi, and Soon Tofu Jjigae with Shrimp—flavors were good! On a snowy day, that tofu soup really hit the spot! ❄️🍲 #AlaskaGuide#FairbanksGuide#FairbanksFood
