Food|Fairbanks, Alaska (Dinner Edition)
Last time we talked about brunch spots — now let’s dive into dinner! 🍽️🌙 🏆 Chowder House 【Personal Rating: 5/5】 Without a doubt, the hidden gem! ✨ The place is small but clean and bright. Their Crab Roll is absolutely delicious — a must-order! 🦀 Also recommend the Seafood Alfredo. The chowder is New England-style 🥣 — overall, you really can’t go wrong here. 🍺 Pump House 【4/5】 A long-standing fine dining spot near Fairbanks, known for using local ingredients. The restaurant ambiance is lovely. We tried the Hoodoo Kolsch 🍻 — a local beer that goes down smoothly. The Shrimp and Crab Rangoon (wonton wrappers stuffed with shrimp, crab, and cream cheese, then fried) was tasty but a bit heavy. The seafood chowder is a signature dish — a little salty but still good. For mains, we had Grilled Alaskan Salmon and Elk Medallions — both decent but not outstanding. 🌿 Lemongrass Thai Restaurant 【3.5/5】 More like “Alaskan-style Thai” — using Alaskan ingredients with Thai spices. We ordered Lamb Chops, Seafood Red Curry, and Saffron Lemongrass Halibut — portion was just right for two. Note: Halibut is a lean fish, so some might find it a bit dry. 🐟 🍣 Kanpai Japanese Sushi & Restaurant 【2.5/5】 I was excited for fresh sashimi in Alaska, but the salmon, red snapper, yellowtail, and white tuna didn’t seem very fresh (maybe we ordered wrong? 😅). The Beef Teriyaki Bowl was heavily marinated — almost tasted like Korean BBQ. You’ll leave full, but maybe try other items if you go. 🇰🇷 Seoul Gate Restaurant 【3/5】 Oops… forgot to take photos again! 😅 We had Seafood Pancake, Beef Bulgogi, and Soon Tofu Jjigae with Shrimp — all tasty! A warm tofu stew on a snowy day really hits the spot. ❄️🍲 #AlaskaGuide #FairbanksGuide #FairbanksFood #Anchorage #SeattleFood #FairbanksEats #TravelGuide #FoodGuide #TravelTips #FairbanksDining #AnchorageFood #EatLocal #FoodieAdventure #DinnerInFairbanks #AlaskanEats #TravelAndEat
