Some Sukiyaki enthusiasts' persistence led me here. I wanted to try out a place called "Ishigami," but the reviews discouraged me, so I ended up at this twenty-year-old establishment! To be fair, I thought the taste was quite good, but the prices were a bit on the high side. The ambiance was excellent, making it perfect for dates. However, if you're not specifically looking for Sukiyaki, there are other options in Amsterdam that offer better value for money. 🥘 Sukiyaki We thought it would be Shabu Shabu, but the waitress told us it's quite similar! The pot is shallow and has a sweet taste. We added Wagyu beef for an extra 7.5 euros, about six slices? The side dishes included cabbage, tofu, and mushrooms. A serving of rice is included. I personally really enjoyed the sweet Sukiyaki, but my friend thought it was too sweet and the portion was average. It's worth trying for the experience, but the value for money is just so-so. 🍖 Yakitori Three skewers of grilled chicken, which I found very tasty. The sauce is also sweet but not overly greasy. It's stuffed with green onions, but they don't overpower with a strong onion flavor. The meat is tender and flavorful—delicious! Recommended! 🐚 Scallops We chose the clay pot method for the scallops. They are quite large and cooked with apricot mushrooms, seafood mushrooms, and zucchini. The flavor is somewhat similar to braised dishes. Although not the freshest, the scallops have a sweet taste and a fibrous texture that you can savor. Not bad at all! Scallop lovers, go for it! 🍣 Spicy Salmon Sushi No need to order this... It's quite small and you can hardly taste the salmon. Better to spend a bit more on Sashimi. 🍚 It's worth mentioning that the plain white rice and stir-fried udon here are both very tasty. A delight for those who love their staple food, the rice is plump and translucent, like sushi rice (I guess), and very delicious! The stir-fried udon is flavorful, well-seasoned, and not too salty! Other: The service attitude is quite good, but they are very busy.
