Overall, it’s a good Japanese restaurant. I ordered Salmon sashimi, chazuke with Salmon, chicken sticks. The salmon sashimi was refresh, with soy sauce and wasabi. The salmon was sliced thick enough to be chewy. The chicken stick was tender and juicy, I like the sauce on it, little sweet. Recommended. Chazuke with salmon was rice with hot green tea, I preferred the green tea to be more flavor, I would not recommend this if you don’t want to eat something light. I ate alone and it was friendly for single use, spent 32 in total.

Food was delicious, really good. Very good ingredients are used. We will go back to try new dishes. For improvement: to give more time between each dish is served. We were kinda in a hurry to eat each dish since the next one was coming too fast. In the end we got two hot dishes and when we ate the second one it was already cold :( Restaurant is amazing and I totally recommend it. Above point for improvement is a tip for the restaurant to make it even better!

Quality of the experience has steeply declined over past few years. While the food, once it finally arrives, is quite OK, the portions are small (if you think you ordered too much, trust me you couldn't). Most generic all you can eat places however these days offer similar quality food and deliver your order much quicker. Expect waiting times of +1-1.5 h before pieces of your order arrive (final items took 2 h). The prices are also quite steep for the amount and quality of the food that is eventually served. There are enough Japanese restaurants around that offer similar or better quality food and better service (e.g. no one checks and asks if you want additional drinks, waiters seem oblivious to the fact that you have been sitting staring at the kitchen for over an hour without receiving any part of your order, slamming parts of your order on the table without looking at you and without any...

A mixed experience at Akitsu. We enjoyed the food. I'm no Japanese food connoisseur but I've not tried sukiyaki before and that was a good choice. However, I felt we were pushed (multiple times!) by our waiter into ordering too much food.

As the customer of a restaurant, I want to trust that the staff are on my side and are helping me to have a good experience. That's one of the things that makes me want to come back a second time.

But that's not what I felt at the end of my meal here. I had no way to know what the portion sizes were from the menu, and I felt purposely mislead. Sushi is not cheap. Overall, we probably spent €40-50 too much between...

We’re from Switzerland and just had dinner at Akitsu in Amsterdam and honestly, it was such a great experience.

The food was super fresh and really tasty, nothing fancy or over the top, just really good and well made.

The people there were super kind, service was quick, and the vibe was warm and relaxed exactly what we needed. Everything just felt right.

Plus, fun fact: my girlfriend’s dad is a world champion pasta chef, so she knows good food and even she was impressed. 😄

We left happy, full, and already planning to come back.

Big love to the...
