Foodie's 6-Day, 5-Night New Mexico Travel Guide

I’m super excited for this NM trip! Many of the restaurants were recommended by my coworker who lives in ABQ!! I also referenced many Xiaohongshu posts~ Day 1: ABQ 🏨 Hotel: Hyatt Uptown The first day was pretty chill—after landing, we picked up our rental car and headed to the hotel. Overall, the hotel was just okay. The outdoor pool was right next to the parking lot, so it didn’t feel very private. Afterwards, we explored Uptown and had dinner at The High Noon, which was recommended by our manager. 🦐 This place is pretty popular! The interior has such a cool vibe and feels very NM-style. Highly recommend the shrimp enchiladas! So creamy and delicious~ Then, we went to Neke Neke, a Japanese ice cream shop at Sawmill Market, and tried their taro ice cream. (It was just okay—way too sweet for my taste 😅) Day 2: ABQ We specifically came to ABQ to watch the Fourth of July fireworks! 🍊 Breakfast at Frontiers, a famous breakfast spot right across from the University of New Mexico. It was packed even in the morning! Their orange juice was amazing 🧡, but the breakfast burrito was just alright—personally, I felt it had too much cheese and was a bit heavy. ☕️ Afterwards, we went to Cutbow Coffee—my favorite coffee shop of the entire NM trip! Loved the décor here. Later, I found out that the owner used to roast beans for Peet’s Coffee. Their latte was so good that I bought a bag of coffee beans as a souvenir! 🌮 Lunch at El Paisa Taqueria, which is supposedly home to ABQ’s best tacos! This place is cash-only and super affordable. We ordered tongue, tripe, and chorizo tacos—each one was delicious! Honestly, it tasted very similar to what I had in Mexico City last year. Highly recommend! We were initially a little disappointed about missing the Pueblo Cultural Center, but we stumbled upon the ABQ Museum instead, and it was awesome!! Especially loved the glass exhibition—it felt like a dream 🌈. ☕️ As coffee lovers, we couldn’t resist checking out another highly recommended spot from Xiaohongshu—Black Bird Coffee. I officially declare this the most beautiful coffee shop I visited in NM! The afternoon sunlight streaming through the flower-painted windows was absolutely romantic 😍. Dinner at the famous El Pinto, known for their spicy ribs. This place is huge—it feels like a mansion! The complimentary tortilla chips were tasty, but personally, I thought the spicy ribs were just okay... the spice flavor wasn’t as bold as I expected 😕. Will share more about Santa Fe + White Sands later! #NewMexico #NewMexicoTravel #ABQ #ABQGuide #Albuquerque #AlbuquerqueFoodie
