For This Palace, I Traveled Alone to Turin, Italy 🇮🇹
🏰 Among all the castles and palaces in Europe, which one is the most underrated? For me, it’s definitely the Venaria Reale in Turin, Italy 🇮🇹 (Reggia di Venaria). I stumbled upon it in a social media post and was instantly mesmerized. Right then, I knew I had to visit! 🚄 Journey: Beautiful places are never easy to reach. I took a train alone from Milan to Turin, transferred to Bus 11 for an hour to Stazione Venaria at the hilltop, then walked 11 minutes to finally reach Venaria Reale. 🎫 Ticket: €20 (€10 for students) 🏔️ The grand Baroque architecture set against the snowy Alps felt like a fairy-tale dream. The entire palace is a masterpiece spanning over 80,000 square meters, radiating the glory of the Savoy dynasty. Surprisingly, I was the only visitor that afternoon — it felt like I had the whole palace to myself! 🌟 The black-and-white checkered marble hall is the most photogenic spot! Afternoon sunlight streaming through the glass windows created an elegant, medieval vibe. The glass doors open to a terrace leading to the side gardens (I pretended to be a prince 🤴). 🌟 Church of St. Hubert: Don’t miss this! The dome adorned with white swan feathers is utterly magical. 🌟 After exploring the palace, make sure to visit the expansive gardens ⛲️ (included in the ticket). It’s vast and breathtaking — perfect for enjoying flowers, fountains, and a mood boost. On my way back, I even made a friend — a Polish girl who used to work for a Chinese company! 🌟 Tips: 1️⃣ Venaria Reale is huge. Set aside half a day. If day-tripping from Milan, arrive early to squeeze in other Turin sights. 2️⃣ Transportation isn’t the most convenient, and there’s lots of walking. Check bus/train schedules on Google Maps 🚍⏰! 3️⃣ Book tickets in advance on the official website. #ItalyTravel #EuropeTravel #Turin #VenariaReale #StudyAbroad #SoloTravel #Milan #TravelTips #HiddenGems 🇮🇹✨
