French Brunch in Chestnut Hill
Last week, while passing through Chestnut Hill, I was drawn to the charming outdoor garden of Matines Café. It’s small and cozy, perfect for a leisurely brunch on a nice day. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. During weekdays at noon, it’s quite crowded, with both the indoor and outdoor areas fully occupied. The food is pretty tasty, and the drinks are decent. It’s a nice spot for girls to hang out, but it’s not a must-visit place specifically. If you’re in the area, it’s worth giving it a try. There’s also the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania nearby, which you could plan to visit together. We ordered three dishes, and each one was quite good: 🧇 Belgian Waffle with Strawberry & Cream: Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, it’s not too sweet and not greasy. Paired with strawberries and cream, it’s simple yet perfect! 🥑 Smashed Avocado Tartine: A classic avocado toast with fresh ingredients and a refreshing taste. 🍄 Mushroom Soup: An incredibly rich and flavorful mushroom soup that’s very satisfying. Their bakery items are also delicious, and the patrons are mostly local seniors. If you enjoy quiet, French-inspired brunch spots, this is definitely worth a visit. 🍽️ Matines Cafe 📍 89 Bethlehem Pike, Philadelphia, PA 19118 Average cost: $20-30 #WeekendFind #PhiladelphiaFood #FrenchBrunch #Brunch #AroundPhiladelphia #ExploringRestaurants
