Freshly Shared: Summer in Maine – Food Guide for a Trip
After sharing the pure travel guide, let’s talk about the restaurants that both our little one and we loved along the way! Near Acadia National Park 🏞️ 1. Beal‘s Lobster Pier ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! It’s about a 40-minute drive from Jordan Pond. Every lobster here is freshly caught—you pick your live lobsters, and they cook them right away. We got two huge 4-pound lobsters (one male, one female), and the meat was incredibly tender and sweet. The female lobster was stuffed with roe from its head to its belly—our little one loved it so much, they kept tapping the lobster shell with excitement while eating 🦞! 📍 182 Clark Point Rd, Southwest Harbor, ME 04679 2. The Travelin Lobster, LLC ⭐⭐⭐ We ordered “The Downeast Feast,” which includes 5 1.25-pound lobsters, plus mussels, clams, and corn. The lobsters were decent but not very big—nothing too impressive. However, the biggest surprise here was their blueberry pie and ice cream! We tried ice cream from 4 different spots on this trip, and theirs was hands down the best 🥇. Our 2.5-year-old even ate half a serving by themselves—total kid-approved! 📍 1569 ME-102, Bar Harbor, ME 04609 3. Geddy‘s ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Their Bacon Lobster Roll was pretty good—adding a touch of chili gave it a fun, unique twist! The lobster chowder was a hit with our little one too; they sipped it up happily. The other dishes were solid but nothing standout. 📍 19 Main St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609 4. Testa's Bar & Grill ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Lobster Tacos here were delicious—fresh lobster meat wrapped in a soft tortilla, full of flavor. Their cocktails were also great (for the adults, of course! 🍹). It’s a nice spot to unwind after a day of exploring the park. 🌈 Old Orchard Beach 5. Sunset Bar & Grill ⭐⭐ We stopped here as a halfway point on our first day driving to the national park—just a quick break for the kid to stretch their legs and grab a meal. The lobsters were small, and the meat was a bit tough. The lobster roll was also just average—nothing to write home about. 📍 4 Fernald St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064 🌈 Portland 6. Sichuan Kitchen ⭐⭐⭐⭐ After eating seafood for 5 straight days, we couldn’t wait to dive into some bold, savory flavors once we got back to the city—and this Sichuan restaurant didn’t disappoint! Their cold noodles and spicy boiled fish were both really tasty. Even our little one loved their steamed pork buns—they ate several in one go. It was the perfect “comfort food reset” after all the lobster! 📍 612 Congress St, Portland, ME 04101 #AcadiaFood #AcadiaNationalPark #MaineLobsterRoll
