๐ฎ Friendly Vibe & Warm, Attentive Service! ๐ฎ
We visited for dinner on a Sunday evening. It wasnโt too busy, which gave us plenty of space to relax and take in the cool, authentic decor that gives the place so much character. We were seated in a cozy booth for four โ and I loved that there was a call button on the table โ so handy when dining with kids! ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ๐ซ Our order was a real feast fit for the whole family! We tried: ๐ด Starters & Small Plates: Edamame Chicken Gyoza Prawn Tempura ๐ค Sushi Tacos ๐ฎ Fried Cheese Nigiri ๐ง Assorted Classic Nigiri Tuna Sashimi ๐ Mains: Red Dragon Roll ๐ Chicken Katsu Curry ๐ ๐ฐ Desserts: Yuzu Mousse ๐ Matcha Crรชpe ๐ต The food was generally delicious and satisfying, though some dishes stood out more than others. My personal favorites were the prawn tempura (so light and crispy!), the fried cheese nigiri (unexpectedly tasty!), the classic nigiri, and the chicken katsu curry (comfort in a bowl!). The gyoza were decent but not memorable, and the tuna sashimi was probably the only letdown. Dessert was a sweet triumph โ the yuzu mousse was our absolute favorite, so refreshing and smooth! I also really appreciated the delicate, thin layers of the matcha crรชpe โ a must-try for any matcha enthusiast! ๐ The service was warm and attentive, and the food came out surprisingly fast โ maybe a bit too quickly for some, but perfect when youโre hungry! The total bill came to ยฃ186, with ยฃ37 of that on drinks. Overall, it was a tasty meal in a genuine setting at a fair price for the neighborhood. The first place that came to mind for comparison was Kampai, located at the other end of High Street Ken. While Kampaiโs decor is less polished, both spots are very similar in terms of food quality and pricing. In my opinion, either is a solid choice for a casual Japanese meal in the area! ๐ #JapaneseEats #FamilyDinner #LondonRestaurants #CasualDining #SushiLovers #MatchaDessert #NeighborhoodGem #HighStreetKen
