Furukawa Higashi Gyoen Teien 🌸🌺🌿🍃
Furukawa Higashi Gyoen Teien, like Koishikawa Korakuen, is one of the few remaining daimyo gardens from the early Edo period in present-day Tokyo. 🌸🌺🌿 The garden is centered around a pond, complemented by greenery, rocks, bridges, and other ornaments, perfectly showcasing the characteristics of a stroll garden with a meandering stream. 🌿💧 🌸🌺🌿 This place was once a river mouth. In the sixth year of the Enpō era (1678), Ōkubo Tadaaki, a senior councilor, received this land from the fourth shōgun Ietsuna. 🌸🌺🌿 The land was reclaimed from the sea around the Meireki period (1655-1658). 🌊🏰 When Tadaaki constructed his residence, 🌸🌺🌿 it is said that gardeners were invited from his fief in Odawara to build the garden, which was named "Rakusuien." 🌳🌼 #FurukawaHigashiGyoenTeien 🏯🌸
