Gelephu International Airport

Gelephu International Airport 🔥🔥🔥Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) as Bhutan's second international airport, Gelephu International Airport combines traditional craftsmanship with modern architectural technology, serving as a global gateway connecting Bhutan's "Gelephu Mindfulness City". The project is jointly planned by BIG in collaboration with aviation engineering firms NACO, Arup, and Cistri, with an expected operational date of 2029. 📍Located on the banks of the Paitha River along Bhutan's border with India, the airport covers an area of 68,000 square meters and is surrounded by subtropical forests, mountains, and rivers. As a core part of the overall master plan for Gelephu Mindfulness City, its design capacity is 123 flights per day, projected to handle 1.3 million passengers by 2040 and 5.5 million by 2065, aiming to boost regional economic and tourism development.❤️❤️❤️ #ArchitecturalAesthetics #ArchitecturalRenderings #ArchitecturalDesign #AerialViews #UrbanSpaceDesign #ExhibitionArchitecture #ArchitecturePortfolios #NarrativeArchitecture #PublicSpaceDesign
