German Bistro in Philly — Beer + Pork Knuckle 🍺🍖

Finally, meat time after hours of hunger! Today I visited Brauhaus Schmitz, a German spot that’s been on my list for two years. The decor is cozy European countryside style — every table has beer steins and a pig figurine, which really amps up the appetite 😋. 🍺 Beer – Had a server-recommended dark beer (0.5L) — not too strong, not bitter, not bloating. Perfect with meat. 🥩 Schweinshaxe (German Pork Knuckle) – Served with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. The pork was fall-apart tender — first bite made me wanna dance! The fatty skin was crispy and not greasy at all. The mashed potatoes seemed cheesy — soft, sticky, and delightful. 🥩 German Sausages – They offer six types; you can try all or pick two for $20. We got spicy sausage and bacon sausage. The bacon one was okay, but both were juicy with crisp skin and a bouncy bite — definitely worth trying! 📍 Address: 718 South St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 💰 ~$45 per person (including drinks) #NorthAmericaTravel #TravelGram #GermanPub #BeerLover #HiddenGem #VibeDining #Philly
