German Cuisine | A 400-Year-Old Restaurant Visited by Napoleon
Want to dig into some hearty meat? Head to a German restaurant for their famous pork knuckle. . This time, I visited Zur Letzten Instanz, a German restaurant that opened in 1621 and is still going strong. With a 400-year history, it's the oldest restaurant in Berlin. Even Napoleon Bonaparte and Charlie Chaplin have dined here! 🏰 ————— A restaurant that's been around for 400 years has got to have some great food. 🍴 Signature Roast Pork Knuckle: 【Schweinehaxe Roast Pork Knuckle 22€】 The skin isn't the tough, chewy kind that gets hard when it cools down. Instead, it has a crispy, flaky texture like roast pork. The accompanying red sauerkraut is also just right—not too sour or too salty. 🍖 🍴 Chef's Favorite: 【Königsberger Klopse Königsberg Meatballs 15€】 This was the most delightful dish of the meal! The meatballs are not greasy at all, and the combination with the creamy mashed potatoes and parsley sauce is super refreshing and delicious. 🍲 🍴 Daily Special: 【Quiche des Tages Quiche of the Day 7.5€】 The hot, flaky pastry is so yummy that I could go for another slice! 🥧 . 🍺 Whenever I visit a new place, I love trying their draft beer 【Bier vom Fass】. Beer is a must at a German restaurant, and the two beers I tried here were both delicious. 🍻 . The atmosphere is amazing: The restaurant is located next to a church garden, and the Biergarten where we sat was super quiet and chill. The interior is decorated in traditional German wooden style, giving it an antique and cozy feel. 🎉 ————— Restaurant Name: Zur Letzten Instanz Address: Waisenstraße 14-16, 10179 Berlin #GermanCuisine #BerlinHistory #FoodieAdventures
