Germany 🇩🇪: A Day of Dining at Two Trendy Munich Restaurants 🍽️✨

On a Sunday, most shops in Munich were closed, but restaurants were still open. After some research on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book), I found some highly recommended spots – and to my delight, none of them disappointed! Plus, German portions are huge, so I was stuffed after each meal. 🍽️💖 1️⃣ Mariannenhof 🍽️ Address: Mariannenstraße 1, 80538 München I was eager to try their grilled ribs, and they did not disappoint! I ordered two flavors: BBQ and spicy hellfire. Both were delicious – the BBQ had a nice sweet-and-sour tang, while the spicy hellfire packed a real punch. I could only eat two pieces before I was full. The ribs were tender and falling off the bone, a delight to eat. The lobster pasta and ham pasta were also fantastic, especially the ham pasta, which came with a surprise of scrambled eggs and green onions, giving me a taste of home. For drinks, ask the server for recommendations; the passion fruit lemonade was refreshing! This place usually requires reservations, but it was relatively empty when we visited (perhaps because it was a Sunday), so walk-ins might be possible, and the service was quick. Recommendation level: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 2️⃣ Ratskeller München 🍽️ Address: Marienplatz 8, 80331 München Located right beneath Munich's town hall, I stumbled upon this place while exploring Marienplatz. It's a century-old establishment with a Chinese menu, a cozy atmosphere, and friendly staff. I ordered the grilled pork knuckle, fried beefsteak, sausage platter, and pork belly. Personally, I found the grilled pork knuckle to be average, the fried beefsteak was standard, but the pork belly was delicious, with a crispy outer crust and a side of what seemed like meat puree with mushrooms – also very tasty. The sausage platter was great, with accompanying sauerkraut that was a bit salty but perfect with beer. However, there weren't many main dishes on the menu; each meat dish came with mashed potatoes.
