🌊 Giant Blue and White Porcelain at the Royal Botanic Gardens

🎨 British artist Felicity Aylieff has been telling her deep connection with Chinese culture through ceramics for 20 years. At the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art in Kew Gardens, London, Felicity’s major solo exhibition “Expressions in Blue” is currently on display. 🏺 The exhibition features many representative works by the artist, who has long collaborated with Jingdezhen porcelain workshops and artisans, including a massive vase towering at 5 meters tall. Felicity skillfully blends traditional techniques like blue and white cobalt and famille rose with contemporary creativity. 🌿 This exhibition is housed within the Shirley Sherwood Gallery, alongside Dr. Shirley Sherwood’s collection of botanical illustrations. Since the 1990s, Dr. Sherwood has been dedicated to collecting contemporary botanical illustrations, and the extensive collection includes over 1000 paintings and drawings from more than 300 artists across 36 countries. 🌳 Kew Gardens in London is a 🇬🇧 must-visit hidden gem, established in 1759 as a private garden for the British royal family, and now one of the world’s most important botanical research institutions.
