Glendale’s Delicious & Budget-Friendly Bakery 🍞🍰😍
📍 Porto's Bakery and Cafe This bakery is so tasty and affordable—total value for money! ‼️ My first time there, I had no clue how to order. Luckily, I saw a staff member holding an iPad waiting to help, so I walked right over to order. Thankfully, there was no line—otherwise, I would’ve accidentally cut in and felt terrible 😅! For anyone who’s never been: You line up in the middle section (the roped-off area). When a staff member is free, they’ll take your order. Then you head over to the register area to wait—once your items are packed, they’ll call you to pay. Super straightforward! 🌸 Must-Try Picks (and a few thoughts!) Seafood Potato BallToday’s savory winner! I didn’t expect it to have filling inside at first—taking that first bite was such a nice surprise 🥔. The seafood flavor is spot-on, way more exciting than a plain potato ball! Potato BallThis one’s good too—lots of people rave about it. But personally, I think it’s a bit plain compared to the seafood version. Still tasty if you love simple potato goodness! Cheese RollThe outer layer is crispy and slightly sweet—and I honestly couldn’t even taste the cheese at first! It feels more like a dessert than a savory roll, but it’s so delicious 🥐. Guava Strudel w/ CheeseThe crust is similar to the cheese roll—again, the cheese flavor is subtle. Inside, there’s a light, sweet guava filling that adds a lovely fruity touch. Super pleasant to eat! Butter CroissantMy boyfriend insisted on getting this—even though I was staring at the almond and chocolate croissants nearby and begging him to pick those 😂. He didn’t listen, though… turns out the butter croissant was just average, nothing special. Napoleon CakeSo good! 👍 It’s not quite as amazing as Bottega Louie’s, but for such a low price, this quality is impressive. One warning: Don’t buy extra to save for the next day—it gets totally soggy overnight, and the crunch is gone 😢. Chocolate CakeLots of people were ordering this, but it was just “okay” for me. The chocolate flavor is strong, but I got tired of it after a couple of bites—guess I’m not a huge chocolate cake fan! TiramisuThe little crispy chocolate bits on top are awesome! But if you dig into the edges, you’ll barely find any of the ladyfinger layer—only the middle has it. Still, it’s not too sweet, which is a plus ☕. I bought all this for just $18—insanely cheap! Also, this bakery is huge—if you walk further in after entering, there’s even more space. Later, a friend told me their coffee is great too, but the line was way too long that day, so I skipped it. Definitely planning to go back for round two soon! #LAFoodie #LAEatsAndDrinks #LAFoodLovers #LAFoodTour #WhatToEatInLA #LABakeries #Glendale #PortosBakeryCafe #CafeVibes
