Good Value, Great Location, Nice Room
Pros ✅ Great Value: The price was much more reasonable than hotels facing Waikīkī Beach or located along Kalākaua Avenue. Though it’s just one block from Kalākaua and a few blocks from the beach, I appreciated the quieter vibe on Kūhiō Avenue 🏙️. Excellent Location: Plenty of bars and restaurants within a minute’s walk. The hotel also has a convenience store (similar to ABC Store), which was super handy 🍻🛍️. Pool & Bar: Located on the 3.5th-floor rooftop, the pool wasn’t too crowded—a big plus for me. The bar hours were shorter than I’d have liked (reportedly due to staffing issues), but I enjoyed relaxing there 🏊♂️🍹. Friendly & Efficient Staff: Everyone was helpful and professional 👏. Comfortable Room: Spacious, clean, and well-maintained with a comfortable bed. Having a balcony was nice, but... Cons ❌ The View: My room faced inward toward a new hotel (or apartment) under construction. Construction workers were active all day and could see directly into my room 🏗️👀. They started early, which disrupted sleep, and I had no sense of privacy unless I kept the curtains closed all day. You may need to pay more to avoid these rooms. Weak Shower Pressure: Below average for a decent hotel 🚿. Faulty Safe: The in-room safe was broken at check-in, and I had to request a repair 🔒. Overall, it was a good stay, but the view really let it down. I’m being generous with 4 stars—some may want to avoid the hotel for this reason alone.🛍️ #HiltonGardenInn #HonestReview #HonoluluMarathon #GoodValue #GreatLocation #AwfulView #TravelTips #HotelProsAndCons #WaikikiStay #MixedExperience
