Granada 🇪🇸 Follow the locals and eat

Staying in Granada for nearly two days, I never had to stress about finding good food—all thanks to our awesome, super helpful Airbnb host! They recommended tons of delicious spots within a few minutes’ walk, and not a single one let us down. Plus, the priciest meal for a few of us was just over 60 euros—total steal 🫡 1️⃣ Bar los Diamantes 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This spot and the third one are both on the street near Plaza Nueva de Granada. They’re open till 11:30 PM (love how late Spanish restaurants stay open! 🕒). It’s mainly a seafood place, but they do tapas too—we went straight for the seafood and ordered three plates. The waitstaff was so sweet, they even ed us when we were about to overorder. And like most places here, order a drink and they’ll bring free tapas—they even said “it’s free!” with a smile. Such a nice touch 😊 👉🏻 Clams: If you love popping little scallops in your mouth, you’re in luck! The portion’s generous, and they’re so satisfying. They taste way better warm, though—so dig in quick before they cool down! 👉🏻 Razor clams: These are huge and so fresh—no grit at all. They were so good we ordered two plates—they’re filling enough to count as a mini meal. 10/10 recommend! 2️⃣ Mercado de San Agustín 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Our host suggested this market for paella, and it’s such a local vibe—plus the market’s super clean! The paella place is across from the “Isla” seafood stall; when we got there, the staff were so they even tried to learn Chinese pronunciations. They said they “cook it fresh”——you can pick your own seafood at the stalls, tip the staff to take it to the restaurant to cook, or just order off the menu. When we chose paella, they pointed to the shrimp and fish at the stall to show us what we’d get. We went for red shrimp paella—those shrimp were massive, with tons of roe. So good I could’ve cried 😭 👉🏻 The paella’s a bit salty by the end, but still really tasty! There’s a ham stand next to the restaurant—grab some to bring over, you won’t regret it. The sangria’s pretty mild, not much fruit flavor, and low-alcohol. The side was fried fish—crunchy and fragrant! 3️⃣ Los Manueles 🌟🌟🌟🌟 There seem to be two locations—pick the one closer to you! We went around 9 PM and had to wait a bit ’cause it was packed. Their pastas are just okay, but other dishes are worth exploring. 👉🏻 Seafood Paella: Super authentic—slightly al dente, with a tangy sauce that tastes like it has ketchup. The seafood’s plentiful and varied, so every bite’s interesting. Recommend! 👉🏻 Grilled Iberian Pork: Hard to go wrong with this here. The portion’s huge and it’s so flavorful. A few pieces were a bit tough, but most were tender and juicy. Again, eat it warm! 👉🏻 Sangria: They load this up with fruit—super fruity, and maybe a bit stronger. Easily one of the best sangrias I had! They also brought free tapas (chicken, I think) in the top right—nice bonus! #GranadaFoodGuide #SpainTravelEats
