The Maritime Gallery museum building was constructed in 1807, originally used as a school for the children of seamen. It was officially established as the National Maritime Museum by an act of Parliament in 1934 and opened to the public in 1937. 🎈 The museum’s collection is vast, including maritime art, cartography, manuscripts, ship models and plans, scientific and navigational instruments, with precious exhibits such as the uniform of Admiral Horatio Nelson.
